Olga Maslikhova is a venture capital investor, media builder, and one of the most distinctive voices in Latin American tech. Over a 15-year career spanning the United States, Southeast Asia, and Latin America, she has backed category-defining companies, built an audience of millions, and developed a conviction that has shaped her life's work: emerging markets -- Brazil chief among them -- produce world-class companies and world-class founders. What they rarely produce is a world-class story. That gap is where she works.
Before founding The J Curve, Olga co-built an early-stage B2B-focused VC firm from a $5M fund into a $70M AUM platform, and developed a successful track record as an angel investor. Her portfolio includes ClassPass -- now part of Playlist, the parent company of Mindbody and ClassPass, valued at $7.5B and backed by Affinity Partners, Vista Equity Partners, and L Catterton -- alongside Vitalk, a mental health startup acquired by Wellhub, and Estoca, the Brazilian fulfillment platform backed by Y Combinator, FJ Labs, and Astella.
The J Curve was never a media strategy. In 2022, Olga wanted to understand the state of tech and venture in Latin America -- but spoke neither Portuguese nor Spanish. So she started interviewing the people who did. What began as a personal research tool grew into millions of YouTube views and a top 5% global Spotify ranking. Season after season, she has brought the architects of Latin America's tech economy into unfiltered conversation -- guests have included Hernán Kazah (co-founder of MercadoLibre and Kaszek Ventures), Paulo Passoni (Valor Capital), Martin Migoya (Globant), Sergio Furio (Creditas), Bruno Maimone (Warburg Pincus), Pedro Conrade (Neon), and Joao Del Valle (EBANX).
Olga holds an MSx from Stanford Graduate School of Business (Class of 2020) and is a frequent speaker at leading global tech events including Web Summit, South Summit, and proprietary big tech events across Latin America. She is based in New York.
